Social Networking is here to stay. In April 2011 we reported that, according to Mashable.com, the social network giant, Facebook, stood at 325 million users in November 2009 and showed no sign of stopping its growth. It adds a staggering HALF A MILLION users EVERY DAY.

Now in December, Social Media Examiner reports there are more than 800 million users, 200 million being added this year ALONE. 80% of all Americas are on some sort of social media.

Business networking giant, LinkedIn, was at 50 million users in the last quarter of 2009 and was, according to their blog, adding roughly ONE NEW MEMBER PER SECOND. Their trends aren't as robust as Facebook, but their numbers keep growing every day.
